These terms & conditions apply to all products purchased from Discovery Technology Pty Ltd.
This agreement contains the limited warranty and terms and conditions applicable to all products supplied by Discovery Technology such as Personal Computer Systems, Notebooks, Servers, Components and Services.
Orders
All orders placed through this web site are subject to confirmation and acceptance by Discovery Technology.
Discovery Technology reserves the right to rectify pricing on products in the event of pricing changes or mistakes made by our suppliers; we will provide you with reasonable notice if this should occur. Should you not agree to the new pricing you are entitled to cancel the order within 7 days of notification of the price discrepancy.
Orders will be dispatched to the address you specify on your order. If the address on the order is different to the address used when you sign up for membership you will be contacted by phone or e-mail to verify that the order is valid and not fraudulent.
In the event that items on your order are not available you will be contacted with a delivery date for the items, should you wish to cancel these items from the order you may do so, we are flexible.
Anyone at the delivery address who receives and signs for the goods will be presumed by Discovery Technology to be authorised to receive the goods. Should no one be available to receive goods, additional courier fees may apply.Once the goods are delivered to you, you will own them and it is your responsibility if they are lost or damaged.
No goods will be shipped without either, an approved Credit Account, or payment in advance.

Payments can be made by direct deposit to our account, details follow, or company cheque, or cash, or bank cheque.

When depositing funds to our account please use the Invoice number/s you are provided with in the Statement Reference section of your direct deposit so that we know exactly which order is being paid for.

Please submit your order online, we will forward you a pro-forma invoice which will include details for making payments via MYOB Payment Services. We do not store or record any customer credit card information.
We do not accept credit card payment for deliveries outside of Australia. Overseas transactions are strictly International Money Transfer only.
DOA Products, Returns & Refunds
Dead On Arrival
Any product which arrives damaged or fails shortly after sale (up to 7 days from date of purchase) to an end user is considered DOA. Please take the following steps to resolve.
- Should any product supplied by Discovery Technology be received which is DOA, please complete a Return Authorisation Form and fax to 02 9453 3401, we will provide you with an RA number by return fax.
- Please record the RA number for future reference.
- Ship the goods to our office via courier or registered mail.
- The RA number should be clearly written on a sticky label placed on the outside of the shipping carton - do not write directly on the carton. If the RA number cannot be identified the product will be returned immediately at the buyer's expense.
- Discovery Technology will repair or replace the product within 7 working days of its receipt, this is dependant on stock availability so exceptions may occur.
If a product is returned to us as "dead on arrival" but is found not to be faulty, the buyer will be responsible for all courier fees.
No Fault Products
A 'no fault' product ('No Fault Product') is a Product returned by the Customer to Discovery Technology in circumstances where the return is not due to the fault of Discovery Technology or any fault with the Product.
Products sold on a "No Returns" basis
Discovery Technology is entitled to supply certain No Fault Products on a 'No Returns Basis'. The expression 'No Returns Basis' means that Discovery Technology will not accept returns on No Fault Products.
The Customer should refer to the Discovery Technology online shop catalogue for details of products which are sold on a No Returns Basis.
To the extent permitted by law, Discovery Technology reserves the right to apply the No Returns Basis policy to any promotional or sale product(s) as it deems necessary. Discovery Technology will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure such Products are clearly advertised and promoted as being sold only on a No Returns Basis.
Product supplied on a "No Return" Basis can not be returned to Discovery Technology unless the product is faulty within the warranties imposed by statute and which cannot be excluded by agreement.

- All Hewlett-Packard UNIX products

- All Intel CPUs, overdrives, graphics cards and motherboard products

- All Iomega OEM products
- Kingston Memory product ordered especially for a reseller (not usually held in stock)
- All Microsoft OEM products
- All Maxtor Hard Drives
- All Toshiba products
- Selected Verbatim products
- All products listed as "No Return" on our website
Returns and Credits Procedure
When returning Products for credit, Customers must contact Discovery Technology Returns operator by e-mail, phone or fax to obtain an RA number. This RA number is valid for up to 14 days from the date of issue by Discovery Technology.
The Customer must supply:
- The date of purchase of the Products
- The Discovery Technology invoice or serial number of the Products
- A valid purchase order number when requesting an RA number
The Customers Discovery Technology trading account can be charged for the return courier fee.
Once the Returns operator has identified the Product, a purchase order for the return will be raised and the Customer will be issued with an RA number. This number must be used in all correspondence relating to the Product.
All Products returned for credit must be in a pristine and unopened condition with all seals intact. All inward freight will be the responsibility of the Customer, we highly recommend that you send this by courier or certified mail, should the product go missing and not arrive at Discovery Technology we can"t be held responsible especially if you have no proof of delivery. Discovery Technology will not cover the cost of freight on returned Products and will not accept responsibility for any damage or loss suffered by the Customer.
Customers must return the Product to Discovery Technology with the RA number clearly written on a removable sticky label on the outside of the shipping carton. This number must not be directly written on the carton. If proof of purchase is required by Discovery Technology, a copy of the Discovery Technology sales invoice must be faxed to the RA Department before the RA number can be issued.

Hours of operation: 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, accept public holidays.
Upon receipt of the returned item/s in the case of return for credit we will refund or credit the amount to you within 7 days of our receipt.
Returns maybe subject to a 15% restocking fee.
Shipping costs are not refundable.
Most manufacturers will not allow opened non-defective items to be returned for credit or exchange. So please ensure that the product is in pristine condition.
Manufacturer restrictions
Hewlett-Packard
HP offers warranty support for its PCs, printers and other peripherals within 50km of major regional centres Australia wide. Both return to base and on-site warranties are provided by HP's own Support Organisation. Coverage is also available through HP's added warranty product, HP Support Packs.
If the product fails within 30 days of it being invoiced to the final user of the product then it is considered to be Dead On Arrival (DOA). In this case please contact Discovery Technology Pty Ltd. If the product failure occurs outside this 30 day period it is considered to be a standard warranty call.

Sony
Discovery Technology handles warranty on Sony Floppy Drives, while all other products should be referred to the local Sony Service Centre or authorised agent. Sony monitors are covered by a 3 year warranty, Sony Floppy Drives by a 2 year warranty and all other hardware products by a 12 month warranty.
Delivery Address / Contact Details
When placing an order where we are to deliver goods to you, we require a physical street address, we cannot deliver to a post box as we use couriers. Please provide your land-line phone number so that we may contact you in the event of delivery issues. An authorised signatory needs to be present at the delivery address to sign for and collect the goods, photo identification may be requested.
Login & Account Details
It is the responsibility of the customer to protect and authorise the use of user names and passwords. Discovery Technology Pty Ltd will not take responsibility for customer user names and password protection. Both account & COD customers are liable to pay all monies outstanding from the purchase of goods on their account by any person that used their user name or password. You agree to release and indemnify Discovery Technology in connection with any use (whether authorised or unauthorised) of your user name or password. Discovery Technology may suspend or cancel your account at any time without prior notice.
Changes to Terms
Each order is governed by the terms and conditions current when the order is placed. Discovery Technology may add to, delete or otherwise change these terms and conditions without notice. It is your responsibility to read and understand these terms and conditions each time you place an order.
Your Acceptance of These Terms
By using the Discovery Technology website, you signify your agreement with the Discovery Technology Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and Credit Account Terms and Conditions should you desire a credit account. If you are NOT able to agree with any aspect of this policy then please do not use this site.
